Hi, just logging into the new platform and wanted to introduce myself. I have 43 years of experience as a chemical engineer in the process chemical industry; mostly in the adhesives, paint and coatings industries. But I have also worked on many projects for other industries as well.
I joined Source CAD maybe 2 years ago and have used it to try and advance my AutoCAD proficiency. I’m not there… yet! I was first introduced to AutoCAD in 1995 but only used it sporadically since it was self-taught and the learning curve was too great. I have used AutoCAD more heavily in the last 16 years and, again, mostly self-taught or from tips from industry colleagues. Most of the work that I do involves primarily P&IDs, process equipment & plant layouts, piping drawings (single-line and 2-line), and some mechanical assembly drawings. I want to continue progress my AutoCAD proficiency, drawing organization, and drawing setup, as I have developed “bad habits” over the years. I also want to expand learn isometric and 3D piping drawings. Any recommendations you can offer are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the new platform.
With your experience, I recommend focusing first on AutoCAD drawing setup, layers, templates, blocks, layouts, plotting, and file organization.
This will help correct old habits and improve consistency.
You can then move to AutoCAD 3D and Plant 3D for piping, isometric drawings, and plant layouts.

Anjali, thank you for your suggestion and, it seems very appropriate. I have been looking at several videos and courses, both from SourceCAD and others but, I get a little confused sometimes because there appears to be several different paths within AutoCAD to get to the same answer/ result. And I find myself getting them mixed up with frustrating results. I am not sure if this is a common occurrence or not. Any suggestions to overcome this are appreciated.
I realize your suggested focused areas are embedded within several courses from SourceCAD. Is there a way to get to these areas without having to sit through learning how to draw line, etc. that you can suggest?
